About me

I see the world through stories. Family recipes are passed down through anecdotes about the chip in grandma’s cookie jar. Directions to the closest gas station cannot be relayed without a tale. Narratives are everywhere, creating order out of what might otherwise seem incoherent. As a child, I fell in love with stories because of their capacity to challenge injustices while elevating tales of resistance, redemption, and hope.

As a human geographer, I have the privilege of exploring our narratives academically. My research explores the environmental imaginaries of women in agriculture in South Carolina. I approach the subject through the lens of political ecology to understand how female farmers are shaping and are shaped by foodways in the American South. My work aims to reimagine the nature of women's work through in - depth interviews.
